3, 4, 5. That is just how I roll…right through a weekend of de-cluttering all at once!
Paper Clutter (like the mail that takes over EVERYTHING once your kids enter into activities, and playdates).
Living Room: mine got a serious tackle when I went over Day #2. Since our entry-way closet is IN the living room, I just sort of made a huge mess, and then had to put it all back. Cleaning it up and de-cluttering as I went, sort of went with that situation.
Day #5: (today)
Is Books and Magazines. Oh how sad for this Librarian; so, so sad. Actually, I read magazines and either pass them on, or if they were located in a germy place (read: bathroom) then, I toss. If magazines are in my house, they are usually given to me second hand from my awesome mother in law anyway, so I don’t feel like I need to keep the cycle going forever. As for books, I honestly take them out from the library, as it is very budget friendly 🙂 and convenient for me, working in the book-place! The books that I do keep are cookbooks, or non-fiction, home-reference type of books. The others, I am donating to friends or the library “take-one” area. Tomorrow is back to work, and de-cluttering with Day#6. I have to say, the weekend is full of lots of regular cleaning, grocery shopping, and cooking, beside the usual shuttling to soccer games, and social fun. I truly am looking forward to tomorrow for the 31 day project of getting my house in order. Forget the job that pays the bills right now. I really enjoy just being in my house more already as it gets more orderly. And when I tell my kids to “hang up their coats,” or “take off their shoes,” they have somewhere to put them away. I hope you will join along with this next month of organizing and making your house a home. It isn’t too late to start following along, and just 30 minutes each day can make a big difference.
