When I was in high school, I ran hurdles. Very badly. So badly, in fact, that by the end of the race, I’d literally walk over the last hurdle…but I’d finish. A valuable life lesson: no matter how hard something is, or how bad I am at something, it is always important to finish.
Not something I always do, but something I strive for.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope to inform other part-time, everything-doers on how I do my life, and hope to hear about how others
cope thrive doing what they love.
My first hurdle with this challenge of writing, has been what to name the blog…Hardly Wonder Woman was my first attempt at writing- Wonder woman is so fierce, a brunette, and truly a figure- literally- to attain to. Totally loved the arm bands!
According to Wikipedia (Librarian in me- forgive!), Wonder Woman held the power to use her Lasso of Truth, to force those bound by it to tell the truth (note to self: do NOT use a lasso when kids start to lie to me), a pair of shield-like bracelets, and an awesome- and terrifying tiara (note to self: buy a bracelet/tiara set).
I choose to use my powers of understanding, patience, laughter, creativity, saying too much at the wrong times, and determined stubbornness to get me through- more of a mythological goddess type, than a hot-karate-babe in a leotard. Basically, I am just not cool enough.
But truly, a goddess? Hardly! Hardly a goddess. Half-a$$ goddess, more like it, but I was afraid that I’d offend too many if I called my blog: Half-A$$-Goddess. I do my life part-time – and lots of it: part-time stay at home mom, part-time librarian, part-time entrepreneur, part-time decorator, part-time crafter, cleaner, reader, artist, wife, cook, writer, friend, neighbor, sister, daughter, auntie, gardener, green-earth-first crunchy-nut, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH; Part-time, but truly interested in it all and trying to keep myself plugged in, because every day is a gift and I am so lucky to be able to explore all of these interests of mine.
So, please read, write, and converse with me about your own experiences and we can share some life, some hurdles, and hopefully learn a few things about being true goddesses in our multi-faceted lives!
Thanks for reading! Please come by again soon!
