Review: Block Island Organics 2 in 1, Sunscreen & Moisturizer

Disclosure: I received a free tube of Block Island Suncare Natural Face Moisturizer in exchange for writing a review on the blog. I was not compensated in any other way. As always I am 100% honest in my opinions on this blog.

safe sunscreen block island organics review

Remember when I was looking for a great sunblock for my family, that was natural and reasonably priced? Well, it took a little bit, but I I think I found my new products. Since it’s winter, I don’t need a sunblock all over my body, but I run or am outside a good deal of the time, and in winter the rays are reflected off the snow pretty harshly. So I think using an SPF can only benefit my skin routine all year around! Thanks to receiving a sample from the Block Island Organics Company, for the past month I have been using Block Island Suncare Natural Face Moisturizer SPF 30 with clear zinc as my every day moisturizer in the mornings. Why would I switch my brands up and try a new moisturizer, when I have super sensitive skin and it’s winter in the Northeast, so I rarely see the sun?!

Weeel. Let’s see some interesting points to note about Block Island Suncare Natural Face Moisturizer SPF 30:

  • It has broad spectrum SPF 30 sun protection. Every. Day.
  • It’s transparent. Read: Not crazy zinc-white that you can’t rub in. This is CLEAR my friends. Yes!
  • Has organic and natural ingredients like aloe, shea butter, green tea, sunflower seed and pomegranate.
  • It’s free of parabens, sulfates, petrochemicals, phthalates, dyes and artificial fragrances.
  • The company does no animal testing and is a vegan-based formula (like all of their products).

Nice right?

Better still, is that it doesn’t smell weird- I like– and my face didn’t break-out once from it- I like– and it blends in really well so I can wear makeup over it- I like.

And it’s SPF 30!! While I may not have worn SPF daily when I was younger, I am smarter now and know that any sun exposure is damaging and makes my skin worse. BI Organics has a great link to the effects of UV Rays, of which cancer is the ultimate damage. No thanks. I will try to prevent that one if I can since, come summer I like to be ON Block Island (Rhode Island) having fun in the sun, protected with a great, natural, inexpensive sunblock!

Oh, and it’s a small, family-run, local company. I like.

Try it yourself!

Since it was night time, I thought you’d like a picture of the beach in December in the Northeast…(haha!)

I have developed an allergy for most chemical sunblocks. I needed to go all natural. I found a few good choices last summer. I was desperate to wear something that wouldn’t make me itch while in Florida. I’ll keep this one in mind too. I like the idea of a clear zinc formula!

Oh-that is hard Lucie. I have super sensitive skin, especially eczema around my eyes- not good. So I am really careful about moisturizers. This one isn’t a problem at all for me, but I know everyone is so different with these things. It is 20%off now with my code and they are offering a separate discount on their own (can’t combine :(, but a good time to try!).
