Ultimate Coffee: March Coffee Talk

Monthly Ultimate Coffee ChatHi there friends. As you know, I have a monthly coffee-chat where I like telling you all the things that I think we’d chat about, if you were at my house having coffee. Coffee and probably some snacks. And maybe there would be lots of noise here, since my wailing kids would be running circles around us! Actuallly, Saturdays are normally not a “home” day at all. We are usually at practices all morning for basketball, ice-skating, soccer, or any number of things that you do with a ball. So…let’s pretend.

Let’s pretend you and I are sharing coffee at YOUR house. Where it might be quieter than mine! Where you make the coffee, because it is probably better than mine (truth! I make terrible coffee), but I can bring the baked goods, since that’s kind of what I like to eat, so I will bring some.

Now, let’s do this! If you and I were sharing a coffee, I’d tell you:

I had my first coffee in 3 days today. It was meh. Homemade, and I still know good coffee from bad, and this batch was meh. I need to buy some of the good stuff.

If you and I were sharing a coffee, I’d tell you:

My boys (identical twins) are turning 6 this month. I cannot believe how lucky we are to have them in our lives, and how lucky they are to have each other. They have gotten to be such big boys. We have legit conversations and they play real sports. Like on teams. It is so much fun, and a little bit mind blowing. They will someday rule me, but for now, I am still in charge. Thank G-d!

Sweet baby boys…{sigh}

If you and I were sharing a coffee, I’d tell you:

The reason why I gave up the java at all, was because I am just getting better from being sick for 2 weeks with the most miserable cold/virus/whatever it was that was in me, that I have not wanted any coffee or alcohol at all- it is almost like a cleanse, except I haven’t worked out at all, and I have been feeding this cold like I mean it! So, not a cleanse in any way, except that maybe now I will think about my consumption of both vices at least a little bit more now that I am feeling better!cranberry simple syrup cocktail

If you and I were sharing a coffee, I’d tell you:

I have been making a new recipe at least once a week. I don’t want to be a food blogger, but I love making food and writing about it on the blog. Does that make sense? I always wanted  a general-type of writing blog, to share the ins and outs of being a working, twin and singleton mom, of laughing out loud with people  who might ‘get’ the jokes, of sharing my fitness struggles and achievements and all that other stuff…but I also write about food a lot. So there is that.  I am a non-food-blogger, blogger who writes about food. A lot. Sigh.

If you and I were sharing a coffee, I’d tell you:

I have gotten some cool opportunities this past month. I posted about these Manitoba Hemp Bars:

hemp heart review

Which, by the way, they are still offering a discount on their site through 3/31 for 15% off(!) with code: hhbarlaunch1015

And also about this, great book by Mary Berry (review coming this week!):

Mary Berry's newest book

It has been fun. I love trying new stuff out and being able to review books for free~ It’s just one of the great parts about all of this.

That’s it! I have no more news. Plenty of excitement around here, but no news! I enjoy our little coffee chats~ So I will see you next month to do this again!

Let me know in the comments: What  was your highlight for February to chat about?

Linking up with Ultimate Coffee for March!

oh my they are so so cute! I wouldn’t say I am a food blogger but I love to create recipes for Meatless Monday And I hope to see you back there again soon too. I don’t know how you have time to blog with 2 little ones. Thanks for joining us today for coffee!

I wish we were having coffee – like every day. And I bet we’d be laughing at a ton of stuff and sharing a ton of memories all the while creating new ones too. I miss you my dearest. Cannot believe all of our boys will be six this year. I need a fix with your family something FIERCE. I love you all!!

Oh goodness TWIN BOYS! Your hands are very full with that adorable duo! My husband has a twin bro and while their personalities are quite different, weird coincidences happen. Like we both have kids born on the same day.

Love these types of posts! I need to remember to join in next month! Glad you’re feeling better and you can drink coffee again– that’s always the worst part of being sick haha. Happy six month bday to your IDENTICAL TWINS! Oh man, that is so cool! I know what you mean about being a non-food blogger blogger. I think of myself as more of a healthy living blogger– and eating is part of living, right!?

    How cute are your twins!

Mary Berry rocks. She’s gotta be the grandma that everyone wishes they could have! I have a couple of her books, but I have to confess, I haven’t actually baked anything from them yet.

I totally get where you’re coming from with the non-food blogger thing. I think it’s always a good principle to write about what you want to write – do what you love!
